How long does a sprained knee take to heal?
I sprained my knee I went to the doctor and we got an XRay no bone damage so she told me it was most likely a sprain and to rest for two weeks and come back. I have been resting my knee one week now it HAS improved considerably considering the day before going I was in really bad pain and barely able to walk.
Thing is I want to try out for the Tennis team in 3 to 4 weeks and I am not sure if my knee can take that. It has been feeling better and I try to rest it and put it on ice but everyone in my family seems to think of it as no big deal or that I am just faking it.
Well, I have to go to school and walk up/down stairs (which hurts) for which I got a knee brace (just elastic nothing big). i ice my knee and elevate it as much as I can after school and have not been running, jumping or anything sports for at least two weeks. Is there anything more I can do???
Not really much else you can do, just gradually build up the amount of exercise you do over the coming weeks. I seriously doubt that you will be fit enough to try out for the tennis team, the knee will not take that sort of punishment in such a short time;
